Easter Thursday is a big night in London town but for many it means only one thing: the annual Erol Alkan marathon. Starting with a five hour set in 2009 Erol has now reached the zenith promising NINE hours of music from 9pm-6am. Early birds will find the club candlelit with Erol playing a selection that moves from beat-less ambience, through psych and disco dubs (and last year an incredible extended version of a UB40 track!).
He’ll then take you on a journey through techno, pop, disco, vintage house and some fond references to his legendary club Trash. Last year was the best set he’d ever played. You don’t want to miss him eclipse even that!
Early bird tickets (£10) are now available in the official Erol Alkan ticket store HERE // FB Event
Stop Making Sense returns to the Croatia’s glorious shores for its third edition! this time at a brand new spot with its own private beach, on site accommodation, the same legendary boat parties and an incredible all night al fresco disco. Their new home for five days and nights of musical anarchy is in the gorgeous village of Tisno, half way between Zadar and Split and so, also with super low cost flights. Beach bar, boat parties, late night dance floor action, sun, sea and stars…yes! early bird tickets available here at £90

Muscles of Joy formed in Glasgow around early 2008, with eight women – their debut LP is a glorious collection of accidental pop, freak-folk, post-punk and avant-garde songs, each with their own magical identity…

We caught up Thibaut Berland aka Breakbot to talk about his music, inspirations, ambitions and plans for the next year – you can read the interview on Erol Alkan’s website here

Ahead of our party on December 1st, we caught up with Michael David of Los Angeles’s Classixx to talk wedding jams, staying up past bedtime and the divine Karen Carpenter.
Who are your most admired acts in dance music?
We really admire our friends Cosmic Kids. They’ve created a really focused sound for themselves, and are currently working on great new material.
Which producer is really impressing you the most at the moment?
We really enjoy I:Cube/Chateau Flight production, they’ve been at it for many years and have released consistent and imaginative music. Currently, I think Totally Enormous Extinct Dinasours has an excellent sound.
Is there anyone out there you would like to collaborate with/who would be your dream person to work with?
I was thinking the other day that it would be cool to have worked with Karen Carpenter, I think her voice was one of the most brilliant and saddest ever. Also she was an incredible drummer, check out some youtube clips.
You’re due to release your album soon, how do you find working together to create a finished record?
Its very difficult to make a full length Classixx record, there is a lot of existential struggle. Hopefully the finished record will sound fun and effortless, we are having fun with it on the tail end.
What kind of things can we look forward to on the new record?
Lots of variety, and at least 1 or 2 songs that will be fun to play at a wedding.
Being such a strong part of the LA music scene, how does it differ to Europe and what do you most like about coming over here to play shows?
I think when you break it down, scenes are similar everywhere. They tend to be made up of like-minded friends, sharing music and getting meals together. I like how late the clubs stay awake in Europe, but I don’t think I could keep up with it on a permanent basis.
Who is your ‘One To Watch’ in terms of up and coming talent?
I’m always excited to hear what our friends Inc. are putting out. They are an explosive R&B band from LA.
Classixx play DURRR, with Breakbot and a special live performance, on December 1st, click here to buy advance tickets.
