Best Debut Album of 2008? The Guardian wants to know what you think!
The Guardian newspaper is running a poll to find out people’s favourite first album and film this year. It will eventually lead to one band / artist and one director being given some sort of award. Basically, you need to email them with your suggestions and a bit of text saying why you think your nominee deserves it, then they’re going to compile a shortlist, and then we’ll all have vote on the shortlist, and then I guess a band and a director will be given a pat on the back and be awarded a limited edition marmite and celery sandwich cut into the shape of a big thumbs up. Or something like that.
Anyway - seeing as the shortlist and eventual winner is going to be determined by the public this is a great opportunity to support the bands you love and see them rewarded. Personally, I reckon it’s got to be Late Of The Pier that’ve made the only truly stunning debut this year, so that’s who I’ve stuck my vote in for. You can cast your votes here: CLICK ME!
